High quality set, easy assembly. Suitable for both experienced modelers and beginners.
Model length, mm: 152
The single-seat ultra-small submarine "Molch" was designed for operations in the coastal zone and belonged to the so-called special assault weapons. The development process was designated "Thomas II", and production of production samples, already called "Molch", began in July 1944. The mini-submarine was equipped with a single electric motor for surface and underwater propulsion, which limited its range of use. The diving depth was up to 60 meters, the maximum speed in the submerged position was 5 knots. The hull consisted of three sections; the central one housed a seat for the only crew member. Construction of the “Molch” was carried out at the Deschhimag shipyard in Bremen; a total of 393 units were received by the Kriegsmarine. As part of the special sabotage formation "K", these submarines were used in the Mediterranean and North Seas, making 140 trips to sea by the end of World War II.
