Serial production of the all-wheel drive car ZIL-131 began in the late 1960s, in 1986 a modernized version appeared - ZIL-131N. The truck was distinguished by its high reliability and excellent off-road capability. The basic model ZIL-131 was intended primarily for the transportation of personnel or cargo weighing up to 5 tons. At one time, it was the most common all-wheel drive army truck, and it was also delivered to different countries of the world. From 1967 to 1990 almost 1,000,000 of these machines were manufactured. A significant volume in production was occupied by a chassis for the installation of various special army equipment. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, cars continued to serve in the armies of the CIS countries and the world. In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, operation
