Built in 1849-1852 After commissioning, it was mainly used as a tugboat for large sailing ships, as a traveling vehicle for transporting land units or naval commanders. He stood in the harbors throughout the Crimean War (1854 - Helsinkors, 1855-56 - Kronstadt), never once confronted the British and French ships cruising the Gulf of Finland. In 1856-57 "Thundering" is converted for swimming with the Emperor. However, Emperor Alexander II used the ship only once during his pilgrimage journey to the Solovetsky Monastery. On September 17, the steamship frigate at full speed, due to a navigation error, flew into the underwater rock of the Small Sommers Island. Despite the arrival of the ships “Courageous”, “Brave” and “Vladimir” on September 26, the “Thundering” sank.

We recommend this model to experienced modelers.
