The appearance of the future transport of Kamchatka is a consequence of the decision to supply coal to the sea. However, the Russo-Japanese War influenced the destination of Kamchatka - coal transport was rebuilt into a "workshop". In the march of the Russian squadron to the Far East, Kamchatka rendered technical assistance to the ships. During the Battle of Tsushima, the transport workshop "Kamchatka", receiving considerable damage by the enemy fire at 16 hours on May 14, 1905, sank at 7:45. On September 2 of the same year, by order No. 176 of the maritime department, Kamchatka was removed from the fleet lists.
