Summer Has Ended. Time to Take Stock

Summer is over, and we can finally tally up the results of the Russian spring-summer offensive. For Moscow, this year has been an absolute disaster. Over 8–9 months, they captured 990 sq. km while losing 820 sq. km. The net gain? A measly 170 sq. km. The price tag for this "huge success" is nearly 300,000 Russian soldiers (they are currently losing about 40,000 men a month). For every single square kilometer gained, they paid with hundreds of lives—or up to 1,700 casualties per net sq. km.

While North Korea actively aids Putin by supplying heavy ballistic missiles carrying massive 2.5-ton warheads, Ukraine can’t even get enough interceptor missiles to defend its skies. Striking the launch sites inside Russia isn't even up for discussion among Western allies. All we ask for is access to Starlink coverage up to 200 km deep into Russian territory, just so we can hunt down and destroy those ballistic missile launchers ourselves—yet even that basic request remains blocked.

Realizing their total impotence on the ground, they have shifted to outright aerial terror. Kyiv is being targeted especially brutally right now. Jet-powered drones are launched around the clock: they fly at high speeds, are much harder to shoot down, and often just circle endlessly over the city to keep everyone in a state of constant panic. During air raids, everything shuts down—malls, grocery stores, local shops. You literally can’t even buy food because of non-stop sirens. Mass events and sports are banned unless there’s a bomb shelter nearby. And frankly, that’s justified: large crowds are a prime target for them.

They are deliberately striking civilian infrastructure: warehouses, factories, gas stations, food distribution hubs, and pharmaceutical plants. None of these are military targets. Failing on the battlefield, they are trying to break civilian morale from above.

Our hands are tied while the enemy swings an axe.

Slap in the Face to "Business Guarantees"

Remember when we were urged to accept Russia's terms, and Washington argued: "The ultimate guarantee against another Russian invasion will be the presence of American businesses operating in Ukraine"? Well, reality has once again exposed the true value of those fairy tales.

Look at the actual facts: right now, Russia is directly targeting American companies. FedEx, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Philip Morris, Mondelez, and Cargill grain terminals have all been hit. According to the American Chamber of Commerce, about 47% of US companies in Ukraine have been damaged or completely destroyed. It’s a direct, blatant slap in the face to America, while Washington just wipes its glasses and pretends not to notice.

Meanwhile, Russia has ramped up hybrid warfare across Europe: sabotage at defense plants, arson, cyberattacks, and hundreds of suspicious drones swarming over NATO military facilities. European spinelessness only emboldens the Kremlin, while Moscow routinely dismisses all accusations as "anti-Russian hysteria."

They cited a photograph of Hiroshima from WWII, claiming it infringed on the rights of the US Military, who took the photo!

Welcome to russia's twisted reality. And they want to force this ideology and system on the entire world.
They started with Ukraine, though they’ve been stuck here for five years now.

Americans in Moscow

CIA Director John Ratcliffe’s recent flight to Moscow on a military aircraft is a massive red flag. Back in 2021, right before the full-scale invasion, CIA Director Burns flew there to warn the Kremlin. If Ratcliffe is flying there now, it means Russia is planning something even more dangerous—most likely testing NATO’s Article 5 in the Baltics. For Putin, who is obviously failing to defeat Ukraine, escalating against NATO is the only move left to force Western negotiations.

Ratcliffe represents serious business. He’s not a pair of mommy's boys like Witkoff and Kushner, who fly to Moscow like it's a casual weekend getaway on the taxpayers' dime. These two drooling "diplomats" shower Putin with compliments and genuinely believe they’re conducting grand strategy. Witkoff literally gushed about how he’ll "fondly remember these wonderful trips to Moscow when he retires." Do they honestly think shoving their American tongues deep into a KGB officer's ass will melt his heart? In Moscow, they see right through this sycophancy. They wipe their boots on these soft, naive diplomats, viewing their groveling as pure American weakness.

Interestingly, when talking to Zelensky, Witkoff somehow drops the sweet talk and acts tough. Turns out he can do it! Respect is earned through strength between equals, not by sucking up to a dictator.

As for Trump... Trump just keeps running his cheap circus. The self-proclaimed world's greatest dealmaker promised to end the war in 24 hours, yet for two years straight, he’s been lecturing everyone about "what a great guy Putin is and how desperately he wants peace." He "wants" peace so bad he just can't stop wanting it.

Instead of real foreign policy, we get a virtual comedy show: Trump renaming Lake Ontario to "Lake America" on social media, drawing the Stars and Stripes across half the globe, and defeating Iran in AI-generated videos. All these "American Gulfs" exist solely in memes for his cult followers, while the rest of the world cringes at the disgrace. Is there really not a single brave person left in the Republican Party to tell the old man: "Stop embarrassing the nation, you look like a clown"? Though, to be fair, promising to hand out $5,000 "Trump Dividends" after the elections is just a desperate attempt to buy votes when all actual arguments have run out. Absolute embarrassment.

Thank you for staying on the right side of history!

My colleague at the charity didn't have time to prepare a report for me, so I can't give her a shopping list for July yet. It will be next month.
Summer is a time for vacations and family gatherings.
