Passenger version of a high-speed fighter. Developed by Anton Fokker's Fokker company. Designer – Reinhold Platz. The first flight took place in early 1918. In February 1918, mass production of the Fokker D.VII began. The first of them arrived at the front in early April. The aircraft was considered the best German fighter of the First World War. Its increased power was provided by a six-cylinder water-cooled Mercedes D.III engine with a capacity of 160 liters. Starting from June 1918, the aircraft was equipped with a more powerful 185 hp BMW-IIIa (modification D VIIF) or 180 hp Mercedes D-IIIau engine, with which its characteristics became even better.
