The battleship Wasa was conceived and created primarily as a "war machine"; he was a symbol of the Swedish idea of domination in the Baltic. Also "Wasa" was conceived as a warship, a floating symbol of King Gustav II Adolf and Sweden. According to the king's plan, the new ship was to become the flagship of the Swedish Royal Navy, the largest and most heavily armed ship of all available to countries with access to the Baltic. The Wasa was the most expensive and most richly decorated ship in the Swedish navy. But also the most unlucky. After leaving the shipyard, he walked only 1300 meters, turned over under a gust of wind and sank within a few minutes, killing 50 sailors who were on the lower decks. So he lay under water for 333 years, until August 1959, when the sunken ship was found and the operation to lift it began. The ship was well preserved and the Swedish government decided to build a museum around the recovered remains of the Wasa. The wood was treated with special chemical compounds, and now this oldest surviving ship is available for everyone to see.
The model has a high level of complexity. Recommended for assembly, only for experienced modelers.
