The armored cruiser "Bayan" was built by the order of the Russian government in France. Among the ships - participants of Russian-Japanese War - "Bayan" is considered the best-in-class armored cruiser of the Russian Navy. He turned out to be the founder of the largest series of this class of ships in the fleet of pre-revolutionary. From the first day Port Arthur defense "Bayan" participated in military campaigns, in reflection attacks of Japanese cruisers and destroyers, destroyer in combat. Only from September 27 to October 18 at the cruiser got six 280-mm shells and ten medium-caliber projectiles. But the damage corrected, the ship is maintained in a state of combat. Shortly before the fall of Port Arthur, November 25, 1904 the Japanese began the shooting of the cruiser. Having ten shells hit the Japanese heavy siege artillery, "Bayan" sank on November 26 in the eastern basin of the Port Arthur harbor. He was later raised by the Japanese, is called "Aso" and became a member of the Japanese fleet. In 1920, it was rebuilt in the minelayer. From the Japanese fleet lists it was expelled in 1930, and was sunk after 2 years. Of the features of this model it is possible to note a good detailing, the possibility of assembling the body in two versions: a full body and a body on the waterline. Propellers are printed with bronze paint.
