Battleship "Orel " was one of the most powerful and advanced ships of the early twentieth century. The ship was laid down at the "Galley island" in St. Petersburg May 20, 1900, it entered into service in October 1904. The armament of the ship were four 305-mm guns, twelve 152-mm guns and over forty guns caliber from 75mm to 47 mm. In preparation for the campaign in the Far East "Orel " received telescopic sights for guns caliber 75 to 305 mm, range finders and stations of wireless telegraphy. As part of the 2nd Pacific Squadron participated in the Russian-Japanese War of 1904-1905. in the Tsushima battle May 14, 1905 has received many hits of Japanese shells, but kept fighting capacity. May 15, 1905 the ship was delivered to the Japanese and 17 May was set in Sasebo. Battleship was for two years capitally reconstructed with replacement of the 12 152-mm artillery shells into six 203-mm and in 1907 put into operation the Japanese fleet. After participating in the battle of Qingdao as part of the first division of battleships of the second squadron "Iwami" in 1918 participated in the Japanese intervention in the Russian Far East, while being the flagship of the Japanese squadron in Vladivostok. On 1 September 1921 the ship became known as a battleship of coastal defense 1 class, going until December 1, 1921 in the part of the 6th Division. In April 1921, he was disarmed and turned into a floating storage and ship-September 1, 1922 removed from the list (according to other sources, in 1923) and in the same year to the metal. According to other sources, in July 1924 (at the same time that was lost and "Hizen") body "Iwami" sunk in Miura aircraft, using it as a goal.
