The USS North Dakota (SSN-784) is the eleventh US Virginia-class submarine and the second ship in the US Navy to be named after the state of North Dakota. In September 2014, the boat was accepted into the fleet. Designed to combat submarines at depth, mine laying, electronic reconnaissance monitoring the tactical situation in the combat area, striking coastal targets, covert landing on the coast of shock and sabotage groups and for other coastal operations.
