The counter-destroyer Albatros is one of the six leaders of the Aigle-class destroyers. Laid down at the private shipyard "AC de la Loire" in Nantes on January 21, 1929. Launched on June 27, 1930, commissioned on August 25, 1931. The Aigle class destroyers were a significant improvement over the previous type. "Buffalo". Improved hull contours and reduced top weight led to reduced roll and Aigle became good artillery platforms. The reliability of ship equipment has also increased noticeably. The Albatross' service as a training and gunnery vessel continued until September 10, 1956, and then was transferred to reserve. Decommissioned in September 1959 after almost thirty years of service.
