"Glory of Catherine" - the first 66-gun sailing line ship of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia. One of five ships of the same name, built at the Kherson shipyard. It was laid down on July 7 (18), 1780, launched on September 16 (27), 1783. He took an active part in the Russo-Turkish war.
In 1972, in the Ukrainian city of Kherson on the embankment of the Dnieper River, a monument to the First Shipbuilders was erected, on the high pedestal of which a 40-ton model of the ship "The Glory of Catherine" from forged copper was installed. On the front side of the pedestal inscription is inscribed: "Here in 1783 the first 66-gun linear ship of the Black Sea Fleet" Slava Ekaterina "was built."
The model has a deep detail level of "Shipyard". The level of complexity is high, in connection with which we recommend this model to experienced modelers - admirers of the sailing fleet.
