A battleship of the French Navy. Laid down in 1891, launched in 1894, commissioned in 1897. Bouvet spent most of her service in the Mediterranean and Northern divisions of the French fleet, regularly participating in annual large-scale maneuvers.
On March 18, 1915, during an artillery bombardment of Turkish forts, he received several hits. Fires started on the battleship. After a 356-mm shell hit the "Bouvet", an explosion of the powder magazines occurred and the ship sank within two minutes. 639 crew members were killed, including the commander, Captain 1st Rank De la Touche. Destroyers that came to the rescue saved only 48 people.
