Virginia - the first ironclad Navy of the Confederate States of America during the Civil War. Rebuilt from the captured southerners steam frigate USS «Merrimack». He participated in the famous Battle of Hampton Roads, during which caused heavy damage to wooden ships of northerners, but was stopped by American tower battleship USS Monitor. After an inconclusive battle, both the battleship went.
