Casemates battleship was commissioned in the UK in accordance with the increase in the program of the fleet (1875). It was built in 1875-1878 gg. the shipyards Samuda Brothers of the British firm. In 1894 he went partial modernization. He took an active part in the Japan-China War, and was damaged in the Battle of the Yalu River. In 1898-1899 years he was held a regular upgrades, and in 1903 was reclassified as a battleship of coastal defense. He took part in the blockade of Port Arthur in the Russian-Japanese war. December 12, 1905 «Fuso» has been reclassified as a coastal defense ship of the 2nd class. April 1, 1908 «Fuso» had been excluded from the Navy list.
