The all-terrain vehicle ‘Bohun’ is a Ukrainian rescue vehicle of high cross-country ability with 4x4 wheel arrangement. This modification of the famous all-terrain vehicle Sherp was created specially for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. It is equipped with a 1.5-litre diesel engine with an output of 44 hp. Bohun is able to accelerate up to 40 km/h on land and up to 6 km/h on water. It is used to eliminate emergencies and rescue people in snowdrifts, on loose soils, in the mountains and on water. It can overcome almost any obstacle up to 1 metre high, including sharp slopes (up to 35 degrees). It easily passes through swamps and deep snow, gets out from water onto ice. It stays afloat due to the displacement of wheels and hermetic tightness of the body. When moving on water, the protector fulfils the role of rowing blades. The vehicle is equipped with a unique air circulation system that uses exhaust gases to inflate or deflate ultra-low-pressure tubeless tyres.
