The only American medium tank, put into service between the two world wars. It was supposed to deploy its mass production on the new arsenal in Detroit, but the August 28, 1940 order was canceled. M2A1 - new welded tower, similar to the tower light tank M2A4. Forced engine, enhanced armor and wider tracks. Made 94 units. Average M2 type tanks were not involved in hostilities and used as a training until the end of 1942. T9 - - a few experienced and experimental vehicles, one of which was built on the base of the tank was put into service as an artillery tractor M4 and was produced until 1945.
