Lately, President Trump says that without elections, there is no democracy in Ukraine.
He said that Zelensky is a dictator who refuses to hold elections, that Ukrainians are already eagerly awaiting elections, but Zelensky still isn't holding them.

Do you know what Ukrainians are really waiting for?
When will Mr. Trump finally remember and fulfill the US commitments to Ukraine from 1994 under the Budapest Memorandum, under which the US pledged to defend Ukraine in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons?

In fact, russia has been ruled by one man for 25 years. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Discord, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and many more apps are blocked in russia, calls through instant messaging apps don't work, all foreign news sites are blocked, and all citizens are forced into a state-run messaging app. Maybe this is an example of democracy?
That's why every time I hear such criticism, I feel justifiably outraged.

Now let's put aside the empty rhetoric and look at the facts.
Zelenskyy would like to hold elections and win them, just as Franklin Delano Roosevelt was re-elected twice as president of a country at war.
If Zelenskyy were a dictator, he would be the first to shout about the need to hold elections right now to extend his term in office legally.

But Ukrainians' level of trust in the US has fallen by half in the past year.
Currently, only 21% of Ukrainians trust the United States government. I'm very sorry, but this is the result achieved by the current administration.
Trust in NATO has also fallen from 43% to 34%. Why? Look at the answer in the row above.
Trust in the EU has remained unchanged at 49% over the past year.
While trust in Zelenskyy is currently at 61%.
I think we can leave it at that.

But I will continue.
How can we hold honest elections when russia bombs us daily? How do you campaign under missiles? What do you do during air raids?
Should you take your ballots to the basement during an alarm? How will the military vote, and what about refugees and emigrants?
A polling station is a crowded place, especially if the military votes in frontline zones — it's a prime target for the russians to strike at these military concentrations.
Taking military personnel from the front to vote? And who will defend the borders from the russian plague?
The addresses of the polling stations and the election dates are known to everyone. Who guarantees that the russians won't bombard these places with missiles?

Yes, some of the population doesn't like Zelensky. And I personally voted against Zelensky in the elections.
But as I wrote earlier, Zelensky's approval rating is now such that he would easily win the election. I'm telling you this as a Ukrainian.
Moreover, Zelensky says: End the war, and we'll hold elections within 60 days.
Therefore, now the barbed comments about Ukrainians not wanting to hold elections seem, to put it mildly, stupid.

President Trump and his negotiators have been convincing us for over a year that Putler wants to end the war, although Pootin himself has somehow never said so.
But let's look beyond empty words and at the facts.

So, here are the facts:
1. Putin refuses a ceasefire until a final peace is concluded.
He says: "Why ceasefire? We need to negotiate a final peace, not temporary measures like a ceasefire."
A man who wants to end the war would seize on any opportunity to stop the fire.
2. Putin clearly states that he is ready to fight with Europe even today.
3. Putin says that Russia is ready to fight to the last Ukrainian.
4. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner came to Moscow for negotiations and waited for Putin for over two hours. If Putler wanted to stop the war, he would have waited for them himself and put everything else aside. So there you have it, the proper attitude of russians toward Americans. In diplomacy, this shows who's in charge and who's a lapdog.

5. Putin never talks about peace; he speaks in vague terms, but when the conversation turns to war, Putler blossoms. He recites the entire topography of Ukraine without a script, recounting where and what russian units are advancing and which cities they're capturing. This shows that Putin lives for war. He's thrilled by it. And he's said this more than once.

And one last fact I just read in the news.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz proposed that russia agree to a Christmas truce. And what do you think?
The russians said: "We won't agree to a ceasefire so that Ukraine can use the respite to prepare for the continuation of the war."
Checkmate!
Tell me, am I blind? Are the russians really that into peace?

Trump is playing Putin's side and wants us to give up our territories, which Pootin so covets in exchange for peace.

So he wants us to give up real, well-fortified cities in exchange for some paper guarantees we can wipe our asses with the next day?
So we're trading these fortress cities for mere promises?!

They say, "Give the russians these territories already, the war will end, and peace will reign throughout the world."
They say we need to hold a referendum on surrendering the territories and ending the war. It's all in the bag, but Zelensky is the only one resisting. Oh, how stubborn.

Why do they think Ukrainians agree to give up the territories?  Ukrainians will vote against it. And you don't have to look far; you only have to look at the opinion polls.
And why are the Ukrainians against it?
After all, it would seem, well, give up what Trump says russia will eventually capture anyway.
Why lose people if you can appease the aggressor and end the war?

Let me explain.
Because Ukrainians understand that Putin doesn't need these cities. 

Putler's goal is the destruction of the Ukrainian state and the Ukrainian nation!

(This isn't the first time I've referenced Hitler and the start of World War II. It's all the same.)
Giving up these cities without a fight would save putin two or three years of war and 300,000-400,000 russian soldiers.
Why give up cities that Putin will use to wipe out his army completely?
Why give up cities that will later become russian fortresses for the subsequent attacks?
Why give up cities where Ukrainians live? Betray them, leave them to the Russians without a fight?

Yes, russia may eventually capture these cities in two or three years, but by the end of this battle, it will no longer be capable of waging war.
Ukraine will undoubtedly suffer losses, but they won't be comparable to russia's.
Defending from a fortress against an enemy advancing across the field is much easier.

It's better for us to lose soldiers there than to inevitably lose them in significantly greater numbers later when the russians advance from these cities against our shelters in the fields.

Putin is only trying to appear like a tough, confident commander, whose army is constantly advancing, conquering territory, and that everything is going according to his plan.
Putin needs to show that everything is wonderful for him, that sanctions aren't working, the army is advancing, the economy is booming.
Putin needs people to come to him, wait in the hallway until the tsar is free, humiliate themselves, and beg him to end the war.
And he still manages to deceive Trump.

It's high time for Trump to understand this.
Notice how Putin has been bragging about the capture of Kupyansk city for two months now.
Several generals were even awarded the "Hero of Russia" medal for capturing the city.
But Zelensky came and filmed a video at the city's entrance. By the way, why has Putin never visited the captured territories?
The court propagandists immediately began to come up with refutations.
They started claiming that this video was "canned stuff" - a video that was filmed a year ago.
They mocked Zelenskyy for having the most expensive iPhone 17.
But such propaganda is only suitable for stupid people.
Because such a person won't notice the inconsistency: how can Zelenskyy film a video in 2024 with an iPhone 17, which was released in September 2025?

Friends, the only way is to crush russia economically.
Russia hasn't created anything valuable for this world that it could sell.
Therefore, if we deprive it of oil revenues, Putler will run out of money.
The sanctions the US imposed on the two largest russian oil companies are good.
But give us the authority to use your weapons to destroy his oil refineries and weapons factories.
Only this will make Putler stop, not pleading and flirting with the aggressor.
