RLM 81b Dark Green Color Guide:
RLM 81 first surfaced in the meticulous directives of GL/C-E 10 Nr.10585/43 (IVE) Az.82b 10 on July 21, 1944. However, its official adoption came later, in August 1944, as documented in Sammelmitteilung Nr. 1.
By 1944, Luftwaffe bomber aircraft underwent a strategic shift in their camouflage scheme. The traditional RLM 70/ RLM 71 green gave way to the distinctive RLM 81 Dunkelgrün which should replace the darker color RLM 70, as detailed in Sammelmitteilung Nr. 1.
Beginning in late 1944, the RLM 81 Dunkelgrün alongside the RLM 82 Hellgrün was also used to camouflage Luftwaffe fighters.
Alongside the dark green hue (RLM 81b Dunkelgrün), there was also a darker version known as RLM 81a Braunviolett.
