A II Def. Protective
A high-quality semi-gloss Soviet early-WW2 aircraft khaki green acrylic or enamel paint for scale models and creative work.
A II Zashch. Protective Color Guide:
An authentic Air Force aircraft khaki green Soviet color (Rus: Protective [zɐˈɕːitnɨj], meaning literally: Protective).
A II Def. Protective, the color used for the upper surface camouflage of Soviet aircraft in 1937-1941. The lower surfaces, according to this camouflage scheme were originally painted A II Al. Aluminum, then in 1940 this paint was replaced with A II St. Goal. Light blue.
A II Zashch. Protective was used to paint only wooden or fabric aircraft parts, while for metal parts its enamel analog A-19f Green was used. In some of the historical photos, you can clearly see the different shades on the metal and fabric surfaces of the planes. This was because different paints were used, which also had different aging properties.
In 1941, the A II Zashch. Protective color was succeeded by AMT-4 Green which was in use until the end of the 1940s.
