WWII Victory Day in ex-USSR

Today Putin held his military parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.
The whole world honors May 8 - the day of remembrance and reconciliation. The day dedicated to the fallen, the day of remembrance of all the victims of the bloodiest war of all time.

But for russians, it is May 9 - a separate day, where russians celebrate their Victory over Fascism.

I was born in the USSR, and most of my school curriculum was Soviet.
So we were taught that it was not a World War, but a Great Patriotic War.
And it took place not from 1939 to 1945, but from 1941 to 1945.
We were never taught that the first two years the Russians were Hitler's allies.
Russian schoolchildren are still not taught about this shameful page of their history as well. 

We were also taught that it was the RUSSIANS who won this war.
And every year on May 9 there was a big military parade.

Now in russia May 9 - Victory Day - has been elevated to a cult.
In all kindergartens and schools, children dress up in military uniforms, put on cardboard tanks, missiles, and airplane costume,s and hold their own parade.

Now in russia, May 9 is a symbol of the leader. A symbol of military might. A symbol of strength.

Importance of 80th anniversary celebration

That is why it was very important for them to celebrate the 80th anniversary of their victory with a military parade and foreign guests this year.

There were many guests, but some were pocket dictators of the former Soviet republics, and some were dictators of African and Asian countries.
But the main guests were supposed to be the European service dogs Fico, Vucic, and Orban.
And of course, Xi Ji Ping and Narendra Modi.
The last two guests were supposed to show Putin's public importance, to show his authority, like, what high-ranking guests put all their business aside and came to the Kremlin.

Parade failure risks

Putin understood that the Ukrainians could ruin this "Satan's Ball" for him, make him look like a loser, and disrupt the parade.
That is why Putin took unprecedented measures - he removed almost all air defense systems and placed them around Moscow, leaving the rest of the country unprotected. He cut off all communications and the Internet for several days. And of course, he allegedly unilaterally declared a 3-day ceasefire.
But we understood that selfish goals guided him.
Ukraine refused this ceasefire and offered a 30-day ceasefire. 
The Russians refused it.

Hidden deal?!

But! The parade took place. 
The Ukrainians did not interfere with Putin's main ceremonial event.
Something tells me that some kind of bargaining took place behind closed doors.
There is something that turned out to be hidden from our eyes.
And it is quite possible that we will find out about it.
And I literally just read in the news that Friedrich Merz said: An agreement on a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine can be reached in the next two days

I am very skeptical about the end of the war.
I really dream of it. But knowing the russians, I understand that they will always try to destroy us.
Every day we will be under threat until Putler's regime changes in RuZZia.
But maybe people will stop dying for at least 30 days, and Ukrainians will be able to sleep normally for at least 30 days.
I want to believe that there will be at least 30 days of silence after 1173 days of endless war.

My conclusions

The Moscow Military parade demonstrated the failure of the West's attempts to isolate RuZZia!
Even some Eastern European leaders with dictatorial habits are already raising their heads, in admiration of Putler.
The world is divided. Dictators are uniting. Democracies are losing.
Radical right parties are gaining a lot of votes in elections.
In Romania, a far-right presidential candidate wins for the second time.
It seems that this world is becoming radicalized, and bad times are ahead.
Or this world is just stupid.
I want to be wrong.
But the Western soft guys need to gather their will into a fist and show their balls.
They are losing to impudent and cruel dictators.
And people see it. And they vote for guys with radical right-wing views.
