RAL 8017 Red Brown Color Guide:
RAL 8017 Rotbraun Nr. 19, a color of German vehicle camouflage, introduced according to Heeresmitteilung 1943 Nr. 181 from February 22, 1943.
RAL 8017 Rotrbarun Nr. 19, according to Heeresmitteilung 1943 Nr. 181, was to be used for camouflage blotches on German AFVs along with RLM 62 Grün over the base color Dunkelgelb nach Muster. Later, in April 1943, Dunkelgelgelb nach Muster and RLM 62 Grün were replaced by RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb (1943 version) and RAL 6003 Olivgrün respectively. This camouflage was also known as Buntfarbenanstrich or multicolored camouflage.
RAL 8017 Red Brown was also applied to the Hinterhalt-Tarnung camouflage (or ambush camouflage) used on German vehicles at the end of World War II. Under this scheme, RAL 6003 Olivgrün replaced RAL 7028 Dunkelgelb (revised in 1944) as the camouflage base color.
