MON-50 is a Soviet anti-personnel mine, which is manufactured in Ukraine under the name PVP-50.
It was developed in the USSR in 1966 as an analogue of the American M18A1 Claymore mine. It is intended for incapacitating enemy personnel. When the mine explodes, it kills a person (or several at the same time) with ready-made explosive elements (540 balls or 485 rollers), which fly towards the enemy in a sector beyond the horizon of 54 degrees at a distance of up to 85 meters. The height of the sector of destruction is from 15 cm to 4 meters at the maximum range. Prohibited by the Ottawa Convention.
