"Teplushka" is a two-axle freight wagon created on the basis of a covered freight car, intended for the carriage of goods requiring protection from weathering, as well as people and animals. The term "wagon" appeared in the 1870s as an abbreviation of the name "insulated wagon." Created in 1875, a commodity covered two-axle railway carriage, as the main type of carriage on Russian railways, had a constructive opportunity for its quick conversion for mass transportation of people in case of emergency.
