Pink or pink (from Pinque - flat-bottomed sailing vessel and German Pinke - cargo ship) - two- or three-masted sailing vessel with oblique Latin or straight sails. It has been used since the 17th century by fleets of naval powers for reconnaissance and cruising operations. Displacement from 50 to 200 tons. Armed with smoothbore artillery caliber 4-8 pounds (up to 20 guns). In the military fleet they were not widely used, and even in the role of reconnaissance and light transport ships were inferior to such types of ships as the sloop, flute and yacht. As part of the Russian Navy, ships of this class appeared during the Northern War. Depending on the size, they could carry up to 38 guns. They were used for transportation of cargoes and deliveries of provisions and ammunition to ships of squadrons, as well as for reconnaissance and cruising operations. For the needs of the Russian fleet, kicks were built before the 1780s, with the exception of one kick built for the Caspian flotilla in 1839.
