The Mercedes-Benz L3000 was a 3 ton 4x2 rear axle truck that was used in Germany in World War II and was powered by a 74 hp Daimler-Benz OM 65/4 diesel engine.
In the years leading up to World War II, Opel was Germany's largest truck manufacturer. The name Blitz, found in a prize contest, was first applied to an Opel truck in 1930.
