Einheits-PKW were delivered to the Wehrmacht from 1936 to 1943 in three versions: Leichter Einheits-PKW, Mittlerer Einheits-PKW and Schwerer Einheits-PKW (light, medium and heavy cars). These vehicles were supposed to replace civilian vehicles previously purchased by the Reichswehr with cross-country mobile vehicles that met military requirements, simplifying logistics and maintenance through the use of standardized components.
